Pt. Aahil

1.4 Year Old Boy

Meet Aahil, a spirited 1.4-year-old boy born on May 25, 2023, in a small village in Saharanpur District, Uttar Pradesh. As the firstborn to his loving parents, Aahil brought immense joy and hope into their lives. However, their world was turned upside down when, at just 4 months old, he was diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD).

Initially, Aahil's parents believed his fainting spells during crying fits were merely part of his development. But as these episodes persisted, they sought medical help, leading to an echocardiogram that revealed the heartbreaking news: Aahil had a serious heart condition. Living in an area with limited medical facilities, the diagnosis left them feeling devastated and anxious.

Determined to find help, Aahil's parents travelled to several hospitals, including PGI Chandigarh, AIIMS Delhi, and RML Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their relentless efforts, they struggled to receive clear guidance or definitive treatment. The doctors suggested waiting a few years before considering surgery, leaving the family feeling hopeless and overwhelmed.

Two months ago, a glimmer of hope appeared when they learned about the Child Heart Foundation (CHF)through the UPRBSK team. With renewed determination, they reached out to CHF and secured an appointment for an echocardiogram on June 27, 2024. The results confirmed that Aahil had Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a condition that requires urgent surgical intervention.

However, the estimated cost for Aahil’s TOF repair surgery was approximately ₹3.75 lakhs—an amount far beyond the reach of his family. Aahil’s father works as a laborer, earning between ₹8,000 and ₹10,000 per month, barely enough to meet their daily needs, let alone cover a critical surgery. Recognizing their plight, Aahil was registered under CHF’s Hridaan Program for financial assistance.

His parents are ordinary people with an extraordinary love for their son. They dream of a future where Aahil is healthy and free to grow like any other child, without the burden of heart disease.

On August 1, 2024, Aahil was admitted for the much-needed TOF repair and ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure surgery. The procedure was a success, and Aahil was discharged on August 8, 2024. His journey toward recovery began, filled with hope and possibilities.

Today, Aahil’s family is profoundly grateful to the CHF team and the generous donors whose support made this journey possible. With each passing day, they see their dreams for Aahil becoming a reality—a life filled with health, laughter, and the freedom to play like other children.
