Dr. Vikas Kohli is Director of the Founder Trustee of CHF. He has been a pioneer in Pediatric Cardiology in India. Dr. Vikas Kohli graduated in with 5 gold medals from the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi in 1986. He subsequently finished his Pediatric training from PGIMER (Chandigarh). He completed his Pediatric Residency (USA) from the New York and trained in Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Miami. He subsequently practiced Pediatric Cardiology in Florida, USA.

He gave up a lucrative career in USA and decided to pursue Pediatric Cardiology in India.

He has been Director of Pediatric Cardiology at RTIICS, Kolkata; he also has been In charge of Pediatric Cardiology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Subsequently, worked in Apollo and due to the inability of Pvt sector to create the change needed for the field, he decided to leave a full time job in any of the corporate hospitals in 2015. He had already initiated the CHF in 2012.

He has been awarded Best Research in Pediatrics Award at the National Indian Academy of Pediatrics Conference 1991 & at the University of Miami Best Research Award in 1996. He has also been awarded the American Heart Association/Genentech Award 1996; The American College of Cardiology - Affiliate in Training Award 1997. In addition, he has received the award for Excellence in Medical record documentation by the Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida.

He is a Fetal, Neonatal and Pediatric Cardiologist, established the Pediatric Cardiology Program at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in 2003 and subsequently initiated Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program His focus is Interventional Cardiology and Fetal Cardiology. He has performed several thousand device closures in children. He has also performed extremely high risk interventions in neonatal patients and Premature babies. The smallest babies he has performed an angioplasty is 1.1 kg.

He has more than 50 publications. He has written more than 5 chapters. He is currently on the Board of Editors for 3 Journals and reviewer for 5 Journals.

His daytime dream is of every child needing heart treatment in India getting treatment on time.

He is keen on quality care and on building systems to increase productivity.
