Lavyansh, a 3-year-old boy from Mangolpuri, North West Delhi, faced a life-altering diagnosis at a very young age. When he was just 8 months old, he fell severely ill with pneumonia. His parents, Mr. Naresh and Mrs. Pinki, rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Delhi, where doctors discovered that Lavyansh had been born with congenital heart disease. This diagnosis was a devastating revelation, as there was no family history of heart conditions.
Despite their financial struggles, with Mr. Naresh and his brother being the sole earners in the family of nine, Lavyansh’s parents were determined to seek treatment. The doctors at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, recognizing the family’s limited means, introduced them to the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) and Dr. Vikas Kohli, a pediatric cardiologist dedicated to helping children with congenital heart defects. This introduction was a turning point for the family, offering them hope for their son's recovery.
Since registering with CHF in 2021, Lavyansh has received crucial support for his condition, allowing his family to manage his heart disease with the resources they would otherwise have lacked. Through the unwavering support of CHF and Dr. Kohli, Lavyansh’s journey has been one of resilience, and his family holds onto the hope of a healthier future for their young son.
