Support a Child

2022-2023

Pt. Ridhiksha Rohilla

Two-year-old Ridhiksha Rohilla, born on December 3, 2021, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, began her life with a fight against the odds. From her earliest days, her parents, Harishchandra and Anita, noticed their baby struggling with poor weight gain and an exhausting suck-rest-suck cycle during feeding. At just six months old, an ECHO confirmed a devastating diagnosis: Ridhiksha had tricuspid atresia, along with a non-restrictive atrial septal defect (ASD) and moderate-sized bulboventricular foramen. These serious congenital heart conditions required immediate attention.

Her first procedure, a pulmonary artery (PA) banding, was performed at six months, but her journey was far from over. Ridhiksha required a second surgery—a Cath plus Glenn procedure—to improve her heart function. Her parents, Harishchandra, working a private job, and Anita, were heartbroken and helpless, unable to arrange the INR 4 lakh needed for the surgery. Referred to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital by Satya Sai Hospital, they turned to the Child Heart Foundation for support.

Admitted on November 7, 2024, Ridhiksha underwent the life-saving surgery on November 9. The skilled medical team performed the Glenn procedure successfully, and after a smooth recovery, she was discharged on November 13, healthier and ready for a brighter future.

Ridhiksha’s story reflects resilience and determination, both in her and her loving parents. The support of the Child Heart Foundation ensured that financial barriers did not dictate her fate. Today, her journey inspires hope, proving that with the right care and compassion, even the smallest hearts can overcome the biggest challenges.
