Avyaan Yadav’s remarkable journey with the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) began even before his birth. At seven months pregnant, Avyaan’s mother, living in Jammu, received the life-changing news that her unborn child might have a heart condition. Determined to seek the best possible care, the family travelled to Delhi for a second opinion at Safdarjung Hospital, where they were referred to CHF for specialized diagnosis and support.
At CHF, a fetal echocardiogram confirmed their concerns—Avyaan was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (CHD). The CHF team provided guidance, counselling, and a plan for follow-up care. The family was advised to monitor the pregnancy and prepare for further evaluations after Avyaan's birth.
Shortly after Avyaan was born, additional tests revealed a hole in his heart. Doctors recommended two surgeries as essential steps to save his life. Thanks to expert medical care and timely intervention, both surgeries were successfully completed. Avyaan has shown incredible resilience and is now on the road to recovery. He will soon be discharged from the hospital, ready to embark on a healthy and hopeful future.
Avyaan’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of early detection and intervention for CHD. It also underscores the critical role organizations like CHF play in providing expert care, emotional support, and life-saving solutions to families facing these challenges. Today, Avyaan’s journey stands as a beacon of hope for countless families navigating similar battles.
