Pallvi’s Journey: A Heart Healed with Care and Support

At just six months old, little Pallvi from Islam Nagar, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was diagnosed with Ostium Secundum Atrial Septal Defect (OS ASD) when her parents took her to a pediatrician for a persistent Lower Respiratory Tract Infection (LRTI). As she grew, recurrent cough, cold, and severe anemia requiring blood transfusion became a part of her life, leading to multiple hospital admissions.

Knowing that her heart needed urgent repair, her family sought help, and hope arrived when the Child Heart Foundation (CHF) along with the CSR support of ABC Foundation stepped in to support her treatment. On February 5, 2025, Pallvi was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (IAH) under the expert care of Dr. Vikas Kohli. The very next day, she underwent a successful ASD device closure procedure, giving her heart the strength it needed to function normally.

Just a day later, Pallvi was discharged. Today, she is an active and joyful child, free from the struggles that once weighed her down.

Her parents now look at her with relief and gratitude. Pallvi’s journey is a testament to how early diagnosis, expert care, and timely support can transform a child's life, ensuring a future full of possibilities.
