Support a Child

2025-2026

Pt. Avika

Avika’s victory over CHD

Born via C-section at Nehru Chikitsalaya, Gorakhpur, little Avika showed early signs of cyanosis (bluish discoloration of skin), breathing difficulty, and excessive sweating during breastfeeding. Initially reassured by doctors, her condition soon worsened with fast breathing and rolling eyes. She was rushed to BRD Hospital, where an echocardiography revealed a congenital heart defect.

Her father, works in a mobile repair shop and the family's sole breadwinner, was overwhelmed by the cost of treatment. A relative’s timely reference led them to Child Heart Foundation (CHF). And yet another echocardiography was carried out at Apollo Hospital which confirmed the diagnosis. She had PDA and need to undergo PDA Device closure. Therefore, CHF quickly stepped in to support.

On 11th June 2025, Avika was taken to the Apollo hospital and following her admission she underwent a successful device closure at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Today, she is steadily recovering, bringing hope and relief to her grateful family.
