Vanshika’s Life_Changing Journey

One-year-old Vanshika from Delhi began her life with hidden struggles. Though she showed signs of cyanosis right after birth, it initially went unnoticed. Her condition worsened when she became severely dehydrated and was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for urgent care.

Tests indicated a possible congenital heart defect (CHD), and an echocardiography was advised. Looking back, her parents realized she had always shown symptoms especially distress while crying. The hospital referred her case to Child Heart Foundation for further evaluation. An appointment was arranged, and the echo confirmed a serious diagnosis: Pulmonary Atresia with VSD. Immediate surgery was necessary. Though hesitant at first, her mother agreed to the procedure after detailed counselling.

Vanshika was admitted on 2nd June 2025, and her surgery (PDA Stenting) was successfully performed on the 4th. Today, she is on the path to recovery with her little heart stronger than ever.
