JEEVANSH® - Fetal echo cardiography program

We offer fetal echocardiography screening ( 18 to 26 weeks of gestation) for diagnosing any fetal cardiac defects.

Importance of Antenatal Diagnosis

  • Early Intervention: Identifying CHD before birth enables healthcare providers to plan appropriate medical management and interventions as soon as the baby is born. This can significantly improve outcomes and reduce complications associated with the heart defect.
  • Medical Planning: Antenatal diagnosis allows for comprehensive prenatal counseling, providing parents with crucial information about their baby's heart condition. This includes discussing treatment options, potential surgeries, and expected outcomes, empowering parents to make informed decisions.
  • Emotional Preparation: Understanding the diagnosis early allows parents to emotionally prepare for the challenges ahead. It provides an opportunity to connect with support networks, healthcare professionals, and other families who have navigated similar experiences.

What We Offer

  • Fetal Echocardiography: We provide this specialized ultrasound technique which is the primary method for diagnosing CHD during in 18- 16 weeks of pregnancy. It allows healthcare providers to visualize the structure and function of the fetal heart in detail, identifying any abnormalities.
  • Support/ Counselling and way forward: Upon diagnosis, parents are provided with comprehensive support from a multidisciplinary team including fetal cardiologists, and pediatric cardiologists. This team offers:
    • Discussion on the diagnosis: Explanation of the specific heart defect, its severity, and potential implications for the baby's health.
    • Treatment Options: Discussion of available treatment options, registration into CHF HRIDAAN program post due diligence. This is followed by surgical interventions or medical management after birth.
    • Emotional Support: Guidance on coping strategies, connecting with support groups, and accessing resources to navigate the journey of caring for a child with CHD.

Making an Impact

By Providing fetal echo diagnosis to poor pregnant women, we are significantly impacting community health and financial stability. Early detection of congenital heart defects (CHD) allows for timely medical intervention, reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality. This proactive healthcare measure can minimize expensive emergency care and long-term treatment costs, leading to overall reduced healthcare expenditure. Early diagnosis also supports informed decision-making, enabling families to prepare emotionally and financially. Consequently, this improves maternal and infant health outcomes, promoting healthier communities and reducing the socioeconomic burden associated with untreated CHD. Thus, fetal echo diagnosis is a vital, cost-effective healthcare service for underserved populations.
